  • Jack Petrie encouraged members (and guests) to attend the Christmas luncheon on Dec 1st and enjoy the surprise entertainment! The District Governor will attend the November 17th meeting which will be held at the Victoria Golf Club.
  • Perry Bamji reminded members to submit nominations for the Paul Harris Awards Dinner to be held April 21st, 2016.  The requirements for nominees are as follows:  they must be able to attend the dinner;  they do not yet have a Paul Harris award;  they will have made a significant and positive contribution to the community
  • Joan Toon talked about the World’s Greatest Meal - The Rotary Club of Victoria is hosting Susanne Rea, one of the founders of WGM to speak at their luncheon on Dec. 3rd.  They are inviting Rotary Clubs in Greater Victoria to join them and hear this dynamic woman speak.  To date the WGM has had over 85,000 participants and raised over $4, 000,000 together with the Gates Foundation.
The concept is simple, have lunch, hear Susanne speak then a basket will be passed around to collect funds for Polio Plus.  Pictures of the event will be sent to the WGM website along with total collected.  It is suggested that Rotarians wanting to have their donations go to their club’s credit put the donation in an envelope, with the name of their club, and the amount donated on the outside.  Later the amount will be tallied and send to WGM.   It is an opportunity for Rotary clubs to come together for food and fellowship, to hear a good speaker and to be a part of this magical world event.
Tickets for this event are available from Joan Toone at joantoone@shaw.ca at a cost of $25 –
