Announcements:
Riley Strother announced that Rotaract is selling Christmas cards and collecting socks. Rotaract is also organizing an event at Hillside, with proceeds donated to BC Children’s Hospital.
Joan Peggs announced that we are taking orders for pointsettias and that we are still looking for more people to volunteer as marshalls (and one cyclist) at the Merrython.
Rod Sims announced the the Frank Sinatra benefit music event on Dec 12th, presented by the Oak Bay Rotary Foundation. Also reminded the club of the pole ceremony on Nov 22nd
Christmas lunch is on Dec 1st
District 5020 Conference is on June 24/25, 2016. Mark your calendars! It will be in Olympia, Washington. Speakers include Marilyn Fitzgerald, Michael McQueen and Jean Irwin. Go to www.rotary5020.org/conference for details and registration.

Rose asked if we were a member of Rotary or a Rotarian. She proceeded to tell a story of how she went from member to a Rotarian during her first international service trip that involved getting a bus with wheelchairs and supplies to Mexico.

The meeting was closed at 1:20pm with the singing of “God Save the Queen”.
